Simulation and Optimization with Parameter Variations
The variation of parameters is one simple possibility to optimise certain properties of the motor or to evaluate the sensitivity with regard to manufacturing tolerances.
smartFEM allows to perform the related calulation runs for Cogging Torque + BEFM and Nominal Torque + Inductance automatically in batch mode. The parameter variations are entered in smartFEM and the calculations which shall performed are edited in a batch file. All parameters for geometries, materials and windings can be modified.
As soon as the batch is completed the results can be viewed in smartFEM or copied to other applications for further evaluations.
Advantage of this procedure is that the user keeps the full control about the consitency of changes in the geometry and errors in geometry and results are avoided. This is a first step into direction of fully automatic optimization, which will be available in smartFEM in the future.
